My Project
Due to the poverty rate of the students we serve, over 94% of our band students are currently renting an instrument through our school program. While it's a blessing to be able to offer these kinds of services so that our kids have the same opportunities as those around them, it does bring limitations!
Our flute students would greatly benefit from cases that allow them proper storage for their cleaning supplies and ones that will better protect the instruments in all weather types.
If the flutes are cleaned regularly and are properly stored, it is extremely likely that they will last longer and will be able to be used by many more students. The current cases that we use do not have storage so the cleaning swabs are getting lost, therefore the flutes aren't being cleaned.
These Gator flute cases will also provide a sturdier interior structure that won't allow the instrument to wiggle around. The cases our kids are currently using are worn and no longer hold the pieces firmly in place, creating keys to become bent and the repair bill to increase. We hope to be able to provide cases to ensure the longevity of our instruments and to continue having the ability to offer them to our students who cannot afford a personal one!
