Stuffy Creations: A Elementary and High School Collaboration
Help me give my students stuffing, embroidery thread, felt materials and accessories for a service and collaborative art project.

My Project
This project perfectly blends collaboration and service learning. High school students will have a unique opportunity to serve a younger generation by transforming elementary students' drawings into tangible stuffies. Each stuffy will also include an encouraging note, fostering connection and support between the students.
This project will foster high school students with practice of service in their community and allow a collaborative way to apply sewing skills learned.
They will have the opportunity to experience the satisfaction of bringing an imaginative idea to life and positively impacting others.
Elementary students will practice imaginative drawing skills and story telling in their artwork by describing their characters. They will also benefit from their experience with older role models.
Both groups will experience a connection to school life beyond just academics and self. This creates a community mindedness and fosters the importance of mentorship.
