This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello! This year's scholars are English Learners who are developing their Academic English skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. To aid in this growth, we would like to gain access to Study.com, an online resource that provides audio/visual support in various content areas. What I love about this software is that it provides what we have lost during distance learning, which is access to comprehensible input. The videos are thoughtfully created and augment a scholar's understanding of literature (novels, poems) and composition (essay responses, narrative writing, etc).

Since it is not currently safe to meet in person and pick up the materials that remained in the classroom, this is the quickest, most effective option for ensuring that our young learners can continue to use their curriculum.

After thoroughly examining the site, there are numerous writing lessons and resources available that will help me continue to effectively teach the skills they need in order to succeed across other content areas (English, History, Science, etc).

My Project

To further supplement what scholars can learn during distance learning, this subscription will give them access to helpful videos and learning activities that will deepen their understanding of literature and composition. Not only will it help in our ELD class, but it will support them in their learning across other content areas. They can use this resource to support their English grades as well as history grades. ELs benefit greatly from a variety of visual and auditory resources. If they can read it and hear it, they will make more gains in language learning.
