This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you are one of our students, you are part of the family. Our school has a tradition of pride and excellence as well as a tight-knit community. Our students love to participate in learning opportunities of all kinds--especially reading experiences that deepen their knowledge and connect them with others, their community, and with history.
Our students are in two categories: voracious readers or future voracious readers.
Our community efforts are often literacy-centered, service-centered, or designed to enrich their academic curiosities and course work such as exploration, clubs, or reading in a group so they can enjoy and learn together. Our students have enjoyed multiple monthly book clubs, which have both motivated and propelled reading. Our students love to read, discuss books and current events, meet authors and come out to author visits both in person and virtual. Right now, virtual meetings are our only option. But we will take it!
My Project
With limited tools as well as limited face-to-face learning opportunities, this year has been extra difficult to make up for learning loss. Access to digital learning tools that are personalized for areas each student may explore independently is a priceless opportunity! Not only does this help just in time to bring up grades for this school year, but it will set them up for success in subsequent years by enabling them to learn how to find the information they need the most by themselves. Study.com learning tools will greatly improve our students' ability to seek the learning boost they need!
