Students with Special Needs Need Safe Bookshelves and Bins
Help me give my students safer bookshelves and storage bins for their books.

My Project
The furniture in my classroom was not designed for a school setting. All of the shelves are too high and the students can not reach the materials. Some of them are very shaky and could easily fall apart and injure the children. Though we have made it several months, I don't feel comfortable letting the children get any materials from the unsafe shelves. All of this means that, although I have hundreds of wonderful books, they aren't really able to read them, without me picking a book for them.
If my classroom had safe and functional shelves, my students would be able to browse all of my books on their own and pick books that they are interested in.
I would be able to incorporate a free choice reading time every day. They would be able to choose to read books during choice time. This would give them greater exposure to various types of books, which will help improve their reading development and encourage a lifelong love of reading.
