Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school. My class consists of 12 students who have mild to moderate disabilities. This class focuses on Academic, Career and Essential Skills. Our classroom is a mix of students with different abilities and grades varying from Third grade to Fifth grade. Although our kids are frustrated on many different levels, I hope to strive and create a classroom that is supportive of each and every child. A classroom that is fun, exciting, and encourages exploring and learning.
My Project
My class is a self-contained class that consists of students with intellectual disabilities. These students are working hard in school on basic reading, writing and math skills. I would love to give my students the resources to continue working at home on the same skills in order to reach mastery and foster growth.
Aristotle said it best, "We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then, is not an act but a habit".
These resources would give our students colored practice books and writing tools in order to develop the skills they need to progress academically. Please choose our project to fund, it would undoubtedly help our students achieve their goals.
