My Students
Do you know anyone who has been diagnosed with autism?
My students are 8 wonderful boys who have been diagnosed with autism.
They are kind, warmhearted and loving. They work very hard to earn prizes and are so proud when they earn them. I have had these boys for 3 years, and I can honestly say they are great kids that make it easy to come to work!
My Project
My students need materials such as 8 Sensory Bar Desk Buddies, printer ink, 10 headphones and Electronic Story Subscription: Social Skills Collection to help them with their functional routines and sensory issues. These materials will help my students tremendously. I print out schedule pieces , they use these visual cues to help them remember where to go and what to do. We have no more black ink and have had to reuse the dingy ones from last year.
The desk fidget pieces will help them concentrate while doing desk work. The fidget toys help with their sensory issues. Headphones are important to us because the classroom gets very loud when students are all playing different games. Sometimes it is easier for a child with autism to read a story in order to comprehend something than it is for them to listen to someone speak. They can read this story daily until they understand so the social stories will be very helpful.
My students deserve any and everything they need to learn.
They are truly a great bunch of students and are so appreciative for everything they are given. These things will help them tremendously both to help them focus and to reinforce lessons! Please, please help!
