Help me give my students LEGO community starter sets to stimulate creativity and explore design thinking.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Rutter's classroom raised $575

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend an urban high school where 94% of students qualify for the federal lunch program. Many are first-generation Americans where English is not spoken in the home.
Our school motto is, "A block long and a worldwide." This speaks to the diversity of the student body and the idea that what they are learning has implications for our society as a whole and the world beyond.
Times are tough in urban education, and every penny donated will be put to good use.
This project seeks to fund a project for my Yearbook staff, who love to put their ideas into action.
My Project
Our students are set up to be all virtual learners for at least the first quarter. My guess is that they will be pretty burned out on computers when we get back to the in-person school experience.
My students will need some hands-on experiences when we get back!
These giant LEGO sets will help students shake off the virtual learning blues with hands-on building and designing. They will live in our school makerspace; the purpose of which is to allow students a space to create with a variety of different mediums and tools. This donation will contribute to that diversity of learning and get kids off screens for a while.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
