My Project
My first graders are in their 2nd half of the school year. They have been learning to read, and are ready to soar into chapter books! In our classroom, students have been working on stamina, comprehension, close reading, and learning about different literary genres. These books will challenge and engage my students during reading groups.
With these new chapter books, my students will be able to share the same novel with their reading group.
They will take turns reading aloud to one another, while discussing the story in depth.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading longer books, and this project will only help enrich their experiences during reading groups.
