My Students
My third-grade students are eager to learn. They are curious, creative and have great imaginations even though we are a Title One school in a high poverty neighborhood.
School is a safe place and I do my best to make my classroom fun and exciting.
Most of my students live in public housing. Their neighborhoods are rough and school is a place for them to be safe. My class is mostly African American children who face a lot of challenges.
My job, as a teacher, is to help them overcome these challenges and become the amazing adults I know they can become.
My Project
Students need to be exposed to a variety of genres in order to become successful readers. I am constantly on the lookout for books that will help my students grow emotionally, socially and academically.
Please help add these growth mindset books to our classroom library.
I need more diverse books to help my students grow, I am asking for a variety of books to add to our library including Dr. Suess, graphic novels, social-emotional books, and growth mindset books.
My students love to read and most days, you can find them curled up in a chair or lying on the rug, wrapped in blankets reading.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
