My Students
My 7th grade students are able to make the best out of any situation. In recent years the curriculum has mirrored societies' utilization of the digital age. However, socioeconomic circumstances that are out of the control of my students have virtually left them on the outskirts of this digital movement with no access to online academic content while they are at home. They don't allow these circumstances to hinder their desire to learn.
It is common practice to empower our students but their ability to empower their teachers has created an environment of pure collaboration across generations that benefits the learning environment.
I have been very fortunate to have students that have shown me how the world is we share can be very different based on our individual interpretations. Their desire to learn has and will continue to empower me to make their education as unique as they are.
My Project
Inspiration starts with access! In the last 18 months we have all learned, in real time, how important engaging lessons are when the content is taught in ways that are traditionally different. Students have also had the ability to show off their creativity and enthusiasm towards creating material that is accessible for each other. They are teaching me so much!

The goal for this project is to use the camera to have students create a variety of documentary style videos that will guide students through the content when reviewing the information learned in the course of each unit. As a Special Education Teacher I want to assess my students in ways that mirror their individual talents and learning styles.
