My Students

I am a Special Education teacher in a 3rd grade Integrated Co-Teach Class, and share teaching with an amazing General Education teacher. Our ICT class consists of special education and general education students learning and working cooperatively.

Each student is unique and special in his and her own way, and we look forward to each school day!

Our students’ smiles and eagerness to learn are a daily reward for us.

Our school consists of culturally and linguistically diverse students within a low socio-economic community. Our special education students have been diagnosed with various exceptionalities which include learning difficulties, speech impairments, ADHD, Autism, and sensory issues.

My Project

My students have an eagerness to learn and are excited to use technology within the classroom since they do not have access to such things at home. The only exposure they have to technology is at school!

As a teacher it is an inexplicable pleasure to see the students working cooperatively and helping each other!

The excitement on their faces when they are exploring technology is priceless!

Our grade level is fortunate to have a laptop cart which we share among several 3rd grade classes. Each teacher signs up for a specific day and time in order for their students to have access to the laptops.

My students look forward to their scheduled time, and are on their best behavior when it is our laptop time! A Microsoft Surface Pro tablet that my students could take turns using exclusively within our classroom would have a tremendous impact on their learning.

Please make it possible for my amazing students to be able to work cooperatively, research their interests and explore the wonders of technology! A tablet would give them the opportunity to grow and succeed!
