This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The sixth grade integrated, co-teaching class is comprised of thirty-four, hardworking students that are dedicated to their own academic success and to the success of the group as a whole. They come from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as academic functioning levels. The ICT class unites students with varied abilities and special needs with their general education peers in a nurturing, cooperative environment. They want to learn and they understand the value of hard work.
My Project
Our class has been struggling with managing their materials in an organized way. Students with special needs have a difficult time sorting and planning, and struggle to find the right notebook for the right subject. Many of our students cannot take their own notes and rely on handouts which get lost in folders or in their desks. Binders will be an efficient way for students to keep all of their notes and materials in one place.
Not only do students with special needs need organizational help, but binders are a great way to embed prevocational skills' practice of filing!
We know this will make our students' notetaking and keeping much better, but it is a terrible burden for some families to buy these materials, especially during the holiday season. Please help our students get the materials they need.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
