This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have not had much experience creating, but a lot in consuming. They watch movies and TV or listen to music that they are given. To make their own productions requires access to resources that are too expensive.

My students are from the inner city and mostly English language learners backgrounds from low income homes.

They are hard-working, respectful, self-motivated young people who are eager to learn! At our school teachers, parents, administrators, and community members work together to create the best learning environment possible. Our school works hard to build leadership skills with an emphasis on critical thinking and college readiness for ALL students.

My Project

My students need a microphone attachment, a stand, portable power supply, and attachments to create a mobile music and reporting station. These will attach to the classroom iPad. These resources will benefit my students in many ways. In the classroom, the mobile station will allow students to record their own performances, dramas, instrument compositions, or singing. The mobile station allows for collaborative work and research by freeing students hands and allowing them to watch themselves perform live. Since the mobile station is easily moved and set up, students can choose to record their performances anywhere. It can even go with them on fieldtrips! This equipment and materials will play an important part of improving students' education and technology skills.

I'm preparing my 4th graders to succeed so they will have the opportunity to attend college.

In order to be prepared and compete with their peers they benefit from the free use of hands on resources in their learning. Becoming comfortable creating content, rather than consuming will help them a great deal in their education. Most of them don't have these experience often so I want to provide them with whatever I can at school. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated
