Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach U.S history in a youth jail school here in California. My students are from 11-18 years of age and come from mainly low income backgrounds. The kids really get excited when we do research projects on the computers. Having a chance to present their power point projects in front of a class, will be a wonderful, confidence building experience valuable in so many ways.

The youths are incarcerated and in a youth jail school which lacks many supplies and equipment. This LCD projector will help bring many classroom projects alive, with actual presentations from these youths, many who rarely went to school at all.

I've seen youths become so excited and proud when they present their finished, designed Power Point presentations to me. I can't wait to have them present to their classmates and school staff. This will definitely impact and encourage more youths to see the enjoyment of education and school.

This donation will help hundreds of youths realize the joy and benefits of education. Creating power point projects develop computer skills and knowledge which are employable. Kids will experience what real professionals do when they present their power points in board meetings or in seminars.
