My Project
Community involvement is a must for our new school. We are a first year school and most of the surrounding areas are also new. It is important we do things to help bring the students, staff, and community together; to help everyone feel like our school is awesome and strengthen our since of community during and beyond school hours. As a second year teacher, who is co-leading the student leadership team I look forward to having students help support family events such as Math Night, Open House, Meet the Teacher, Movie Nights, Student Advisory Council, Family Reading Night, Carnivals, and more.
Having a community event and serving concession foods such as popcorn will lift spirits, bring our community together, and make everyone smile.
Feed them and they will come! Flyers will be shared and posters created when we open our first in-person campus event. The popcorn machine and supplies will be used for all school-related events by 6th graders with the support of teachers and community members. Engaging families and community members in school events actively supports increases student achievement, builds a strong school reputation, and enhances an understanding of family-community needs.
Thank you in advance for supporting our students and for recognizing the importance of a strong community.
