My Students

Have you ever felt like you could do more if you only had the materials and resources needed? My students experience this reality daily in my classroom because the resources, which include textbooks and technology, are not readily available to them.

I teach 6th-8th grade middle school students on the westside of Chicago.

My school is in an underprivileged area of the city. The school has very limited resources due to the recent budget cuts. Materials, especially technology, that are needed to effectively teach a lesson are very scarce and will help tremendously in my classroom.

My Project

I have requested the Apple iPad because I will be teaching 120 students daily and I do not have enough resources for my students during instruction. I can download multiple novels, apps, and programs that can be used to enhance learning. My struggling students will also benefit because I will be able to effectively differentiate instruction for them as well. The Brother Color Printer will assist when I do not have enough copies of the instructional materials needed for my students. My students will also be able to print their assignments and projects in class since most them don't have access to a printer.

All donations will help make the instructional material accessible for all students.

Students will be more engaged in the lesson because they will be able to view the required elements. Their skills will increase by working with the various apps available with the iPad through the Apple store.
