Students on Fire in a Digital Age

Help me give my students five Kindle Fires, through which, they will have worldwide access to reading materials, research capabilities, and the edge they need to be more competitive in this technological age.

My Students

Our Elementary school sits in the heart of an economically challenged area. Students face many challenges before even arriving to school, and a majority come unprepared. In spite of all their struggles they remain optimistic and love to try new things.

My students are extremely creative and love to think outside the box.

They seem to have no fear when it comes to technology and sometimes even teach me new things! With this opportunity we will "Light our projects on Fire!!!!"

My Project

My students struggle with traditional learning methods. They enjoy hands on activities, but we lack the materials needed to take their projects to the next level. A Kindle will allow them to become part of this technology literate world, as well as increase their desire to learn. They will be able to conduct Literature Discussions using digital materials from public libraries around the world, without ever leaving the classroom!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to use this technology to create snapshots of their work and document their thought processes through the use of electronic portfolio applications.
