My Students

Have you ever lacked a resource that makes it possible to complete a job? Our students, in a poverty stricken area, face this obstacle each school year. There is a lack of resources, funds and educators. Please help us so that we may use our printer again!

My students come from a very low economic area.

Only 11% of our students can read on grade level. My students are poverty stricken. Many parents of my students are illiterate. 89% of my students cannot read on grade level. Because my students struggle with reading, they lose interest in school. Our high school graduation rate is only 67% and less than 1% graduate college.

My Project

We have 1 printer for 8 classrooms, which effects over 200 students. We are requesting printer ink. With this request, we hope to maintain functioning classrooms and teacher resources. Because our district struggles, our students are forbidden to write in consumables. They must write everything because we cannot afford to fund that many workbooks/textbooks each year. A printer makes it possible to copy pages so that our students are able to focus on the task. Please help!

Our project is important because there is a loss of instructional time when students are copying from the text.

Only 11% of my students are reading on or above grade level. They waste too much time copying because we do not have access to a printer full time. It would really help us out if you were able to donate to help our cause. Thank you!
