Help me give my students FSA approved hand held calculators. Students need the opportunity to not only see the online calculator but to also practice and experience with it. Many of my students cannot afford to buy one.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a Tittle I Middle School; most of them receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of the students do not have adult supervision when they get home. Parents are either working day and night to make ends meet, or they come from a single parent home. Many times, the parents who are actually part of the children's lives, do not know how to help.
They are mostly Hispanic migrant students who are learning English as a second language.
They often do not have classroom supplies, internet access, or a clean school uniform. For the most part, the students do not have technology accessibility to enhance their learning. It is of topmost importance to maximize effective classroom instruction.
My Project
Last year the State of Florida Department of Education changed the approved calculator students could use on standardized state tests. Unfortunately we are still using last year's calculators but they are no longer allowed on the actual tests.
If students had the opportunity to practice with the new approved calculators, they will be better prepared for the test, and feel more confident about themselves.
Holding an approved calculator on state testing days, versus just using the online version, will help students feel more confident; for many of them holding a calculator is like holding a soothing blanket, it just makes them feel better.
