This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All of my students are fantastic! But all are in my classes because they have tested below grade level for Reading and Language Arts, some many years behind.
My classes benefit from a huge diversity of cultures and backgrounds.
Many students are English Language Learners and several have learning differences. However, all show growth and commitment to learning year after year!
My Project
Students are spending all day online during distance learning. We're asking them to access online libraries for independent reading, but they are not motivated to do more online reading! My solution is simple...Students need REAL Books so they will read during Distance Learning. With your funding for the books, I commit to sponsoring the packing and shipping costs to get REAL books into the hands of my students while they are learning from home.
I don't want them disadvantaged anymore.
I want to provide my students access to high interest, paper and print REAL books!
