My Students
My school is a medium-sized high school in a large, underfunded urban district that serves a high poverty student population. Over the course of each school year, I teach approximately two hundred students in grades 9 through 12.
In the current COVID environment, students aren't able to share materials, so I need help from the community to provide all of my students with materials so they will be able to actively engage with our curriculum and make art as a part of art class.
Without your support, students taking art will not be able to practice their art making skills.
My Project
My school is a large high school in a chronically underfunded community. Our budget for art supplies is very small, and due to COVID we need students to have their own supply kits so they aren't sharing materials. Without materials, students cannot do any actual art projects.
This project will provide materials and texts to allow my 150 students to have their own supply kits so they can actively create art whether we are in person or virtual.
Students will use drawing pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, scissors, glue, markers, rulers, colored pencils and texts for learning to ensure they have opportunities to actively engage with the art making process. Without these materials, students will not be able to actively create artwork.
