A majority of my students come from low-income, trauma-impacted households. Most of my students' families cannot access therapeutic/ sensory tools. I want to provide my students with a calm, peaceful environment so the therapeutic process can begin.
I love to watch my students have access to positive peer activities and to see growth in their social skills.
These fidget toys will allow my students to discretely fidget and get some of their sensory needs taken care of in the classroom setting so they can focus on the lessons and the work they need to complete. The board games and group activities will allow my students to have positive conversations with one another in a low-stress environment while still learning. If we can make conversations fun but still meaningful, then it should help these outstanding young leaders be more comfortable throughout their school day.
Many of my students experience food insecurity in their daily lives. Having snacks available throughout the day is essential in allowing them to not worry about food and will enable them to access their education entirely.
I am asking for office/cleaning supplies to ensure that my students always have a safe and comfortable place to meet with me. We want our students to be in school as much as possible, and a clean workplace free of as many germs as possible is crucial for this to occur. A new printer will allow me to print updated materials essential for student success.
