My Students
My third-grade students are amazing! They come into the classroom excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have a very diverse population of students, culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It's become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!
The students in my classroom thrive when given the opportunity to take charge of their learning.
Whenever possible this group of students takes their learning to a different level. They love to "play school" and take over their mini-group to teach something they just learned! They question things that they might doubt, and have become adept at researching the facts!
My Project
I have always thought that one of the best ways to "show what you know" is for a student to become the teacher.
With the program "PowerMyLearning" our students will be able to go home and teach their families what they learned in school!
The premise of "PowerMyLearning" is that students can teach their parents the skills they have been learning at school using a cell phone or other device. Our students are very adept at using technology, and being able to show off what they are learning will only reinforce the learning for them. What a wonderful way to do homework!
