My Project

Students learn best by experiencing and interacting directly with the science concepts they are studying! There are times when there is no better way to do this than through the online simulations and models made possible through gizmos.

There are hundreds of STEM Gizmos which bring otherwise abstract and/or cost-prohibitive science concepts right to students' fingertips.

These simulations can be used to introduce, review, or extend students' learning. While learning about how natural selection works, students can become a bird on a hunt for camouflaged moths. While learning about experimental design, students can "grow" their own plants and change a variety of factors to investigate impacts. While learning about how genetics works, students can "breed" mice and put critical vocabulary into context throughout the inquiry process. Students can manipulate chemical bonds, disrupt food chains, build circuits, and so much more!
