My Students
No more slouching, no more wiggly 4th graders and no more snoozing at desks. Most of my students often sit for long periods of time without an opportunity to really move around. My students want more exercise in education.
My bilingual class has 22 energetic students who are eager to learn at all times.
They attend a Title I Texas school where about 75% of the students have either reduced-price or free lunch. Although their circumstances are less fortunate than others, they want to give the best they can by improving their focus and their attention in the classroom. My students just need the right conditions to succeed.
My Project
Having exercise balls in my 4th grade classroom would help students improve posture, strengthen core muscles and increase blood flow to the brain. As a result, my students would re-focus or re-energize during instruction or independent study. The idea is that when student body's engaged, their brain's engaged. This actively sitting would definitely help my 4th graders succeed throughout the school year.
Please help me make a difference in my students' lives by changing their chairs for stability balls which will be used as a learning tool and source of exercise throughout the day.
