My Students
The "old-fashioned" classrooms of the past are simply that---old-fashioned! In today's society, students are gearing up for college and the work force. Careers in engineering, mathematics, and technology are the way of our future My students are engaged in STEM learning every day.
I have twenty-four students who come into my classroom every day with interested minds and willing hearts.
Our school is a Title I school in a diverse community. I serve students from various backgrounds, ethnic groups, and socioeconomic groups. All of my students feel fortunate to attend a school that teaches STEM every day!
My Project
I am requesting a Sphero ball with a protective case. This is just one of many fun and engaging tools that can assist students in learning about STEM careers. With the use of the Sphero ball, my students will be able to start putting their new coding skills to good use! Through apps on our classroom iPad, students will be able to write code and program the Sphero ball to do what they want. This will give them opportunities to try writing their own code and see it in action.
Donations to this project will help me provide another great resource for my students.
None of my students have a Sphero, and they have never been introduced to this type of activity. By making them aware of all of the possibilities through STEM, their worlds can be opened up to many more opportunities for their futures.
