it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic English language learners that need a few tools to help them stay on track. 100% receive free lunch. They come to the school full of enthusiasm but needing even the most basic supplies, including pens, pencils, and notebooks.
Our school has a great track record of helping these students graduate with success; however, we have limited resources and do not always have the means to purchase essential tools for our students to make them successful in class.
My Project
In our large high school, we do not have room for student lockers. They are forced to find a bookshelf or corner in which to shove their personal effects while they travel between classes, to lunch, and to gym class. When they return at the end of the day, the teacher is often not easy to find so they can get their coats in a timely manner.
This wardrobe closet will allow students to access their coats, umbrellas, and personal effects in a professional manner.
Our school is a small school in a large building, and it is simply not equipped to provide the students the space they need. With this tool, teachers can accommodate their basic needs by wheeling the wardrobe to a place at which it can be accessed by the students when it is needed.
