This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I finally have students begging for books. They want more and more to read. But, unfortunately, there is another roadblock. I don't have the books they want or enough series books to go around. Help keep my students motivated with this order of series!
Over 75% of my students are English Language Learners.
Additionally, I have students ranging from a first grade reading level to an 8th grade reading level. The most amazing part is that all my students are reading! They want to read, and they want to learn more!
My Project
My students need a collection of series books beginning at a second grade level and going all the way up to 6th grade level. These books will keep my lowest students interested in reading and motivated to keep learning! Many of the series in this purchase are at a second grade reading level. I don't have many interesting, new books at a second grade reading level. Everything I have, the students at that level have already read. They are getting bored and I can see them slowly retreating from their newly found love for reading. These books will keep my little engines roaring.
This donation of over 50 books will impact my classroom by keeping students reading.
The largest factor in getting students to grade level and making them lifelong readers is getting them to read daily. Please donate books so that I can keep my most challenging students reading books they love.
