Help me give my students the books they have specifically asked for; books that represent their cultures and their interests so that they--and their peers--will continue to grow as readers!
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Azinger's classroom raised $894

My Project
Reading for fun is a gateway to academic and social success, empathy, and critical thinking skills. One of the best ways to encourage students to read for fun is to provide high-interest books that reflect their interests and their cultural diversity.
Our school library represents the rich cultures and interests of all of our students, so filling our shelves with student requests ensures that students will feel seen, heard, and valued.
And when students feel valued in the library, they will spend more time here learning and using the variety of resources available to them. Students can read the books they've requested in order to: develop as lifelong readers; to build understanding for their own cultures, and the cultures of others; and to build empathy and adaptability as members of a diverse, ever-changing society.
This project, created by students for students, will help them find success in high school and beyond.
