Please help my special needs student have what they deserve, a chair that does not pinch them or pull their clothes. They need chairs that they can be comfortable in for hours at a time.
I teach 3rd and 4th grade multiple disabled
students in an urban district.
My students face many obstacles in their young lives trying to keep up with their peers in the regular classes. It would be so wonderful if they had new chairs to sit on.
I grew up in an suburb and we always had the same chair to sit on. I know it might seem like a small thing to give to your students but we are in the classroom a good six hours a day and not having a decent chair to sit on makes a difference in the children's learning. The teachers desk is such a mess I am afraid that one day one of my students will be by the desk and it will fall on them or they will be hurt.
We only have 12 chairs in our classroom and they are as old as the school. The school was built in l967. The teachers desk also needs to be replaced. The legs are all bent and the drawers have not closed since I have been there, which is about 10 years.
Please, Please, Please help my students get
what they deserve a set of matching student
chairs and a desk for their teacher. Your help will make it possible for my students to be comfortable during the day so they can learn as much as possible.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
