Students Are Kids First

Help me give my students incentives to perform at their best abilities in school. The stress from COVID that are non-school related has put challenges on students that were already struggling academically. Students need to be kids again.

My Project

Does your childhood bring back fun memories at school? Our students would say otherwise. COVID-19 has taken away many joys like field-trips, simple outdoor activities, and human connection for these young kids. More pressure has been put on academic abilities to make up for school closures. By funding my project, my students will be able to enjoy incentives like food, stickers, and fun school supplies. These incentives are meant to motivate them to be their best selves and makes learning fun for these already struggling students.

School funds cover necessities- but our students need much more than bare minimum.

My students enjoy simple things like free time, and attention. They don't ask for material things because many of them come from homes where just the necessities are hard to come by. Students have received small incentives bought with my own personal funds and those small rewards light up their little faces. A current student explains, "You care about us because I've never gotten a sticker before, and that means a lot to me. I want to come to class and make you proud." Those little rewards go beyond students wanting to earn more things.
