Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of students. I have a very diverse classroom environment that makes all of my students feel safe and welcomed. I have a wide range of students who come from all different backgrounds and each has a story that is unique and plays a factor in their learning. I run my classroom as if we are a family, a team, as leaders for each other. We support each others learning and we celebrate all our success.

I teach at a Title I school in the heart of a downtown Phoenix.

My students don't have a lot and I try to give each of them all that I can. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. For a lot of students, this is their only chance of the day to have a meal and feel safe. Despite any hardship that my students face in their home lives, the students in my class are eager to learn and love school. Every child that enters my room is loved and knows that they are each and every day.

My Project

I am asking for notebooks for each of my students. We will be returning to school at the end of the month and students will not be able to bring in supplies from home due to safety reasons. I am asking for notebooks for each student in my class. They will use one notebook for math and one notebook for ELA.

I am also asking for individual bins for each student to store their supplies in.

The bins will be so that each student does not have to share with a peer. That way they can make sure they are only touching what belongs to them to ensure safety during this time. Lastly, I am asking for ink to print student work.
