My students need six Hokki stools to provide a seating option that allows for both movement and focus.

My Students
A typical day in our classroom includes whole class lessons and independent, personal learning time. Throughout the day students are encouraged to find space that works for them depending on what they are working on. This classroom style allows for students to advocate for their personal needs.
Our school is a fantastic learning community that helps students find their passion for learning.
The students in my class love to learn and explore new things. They work well together to collaborate on projects and to share their learning with each other.
As fifth graders, my students are the oldest in the school and are working to be leaders within our building. They are given time within the school day to not only work on passion projects, but to help solve problems that they see in our school and community.
My Project
The Hokki stools that we are requesting are stools which will allow students to work at a table space, while still having the ability to move around. Many fifth graders find it hard to stay engaged in learning in a traditional hard plastic chair. They often rock on these chairs because they crave the movement and balance it allows. The Hokki stools will serve the same purpose, but in a safe manner.
By allowing kids to use these stools, they will increase focus and engagement in learning.
This project will increase the choices given to students to learn how to become the best learner possible. The skill of self advocacy will serve them well into the future as they learn how to make wise decisions to support their learning.
