Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a diverse range of students in a less traditional setting than what one imagines for public schools in Texas. My students are online learners who are looking for an educational structure that allows them to work at their own pace while still receiving the support they need to meet their diverse needs.
My Project
Virtual learning poses a unique set of challenges for teachers and students. I am always looking for ways to keep my students engaged and motivated to work hard and achieve their best.
I give students incentives for engagement, hard work, and for showing improvement; I plan to use these gift cards to reward students for demonstrating excellence and/or growth.
The $5 gift cards will be rewarded to multiple students at the closure of online lessons on a weekly basis through the end of the school year. This will serve as my student rewards program in future school years as well. The postage is to ensure I have stamps to mail the incentives to distant learners.
