We are getting ready to read independently! My students are ready to dive into reading independently and need a great place that is comfy to settle in with a good book! Before they can do that, they also need a place to store a few books they have chosen to read!
I am a new first grade teacher, starting at a new school!
I am excited to create a reading area for my students where they will be comfortable and able to keep their books organized. My students are ready to begin reading independently and need a comfy and organized area!
My Project
The pillows will allow students to find their own spot to read where they are most comfortable. The bean bag chairs will be in a small reading are with a lamp and carpet. Each student will have a bin with their name and the books they have chosen to read. This will keep the books in one place and and give the students more room at/in their desks.
I want to create a classroom of lifelong learners who love to read as much as I do!
Having e students comfortable and organized is a small step in doing just that! Please be a part in creating a classroom that is ready to support reading independently!
