My students need a wireless color printer so that they will be able to publish their work in class in color as opposed to black and white, to allow for more creativity.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Abraham Lincoln once said, "The best way to predict the future is to create it." I believe that every student in my class has the capacity to be creative in their own way. The color printer will allow them to be more creative in their publishing.
I work in a high poverty/high crime district where about a third of the students qualify as being homeless.
In my class, the majority of my students are English Language Learners and don't have the same privileges as some of their classmates. Some of them don't have the same technology access at home which allows them to practice skills at home. I like to consider my classroom as a safe haven for them because that is where they learn English speaking and writing skills and have access to technology, as well as a plethora of reading materials. They are hard-working, bright students who aim to please and strive for acceptance.
My Project
My students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of technology skills and subject matter content by creating and writing collaboratively in color through the use of the wireless printer. The scanning feature will also help us to connect to Google Documents and integrate more technology into our work. This in turn will enhance the creative process and further deepen their understanding.
These students are high risk and need to know that there are people that are out there who are willing to help out and care.
A printer like this is a luxury that our district cannot afford to provide to each classroom, regardless of the high educational value.
