This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, I am so excited to be looping with my students from last year!

This year, I will be teaching a third grade ESL class.

The group will consist of about 30 English Language Learners, ages 8-9 years old, with diverse backgrounds and each of them bringing their own diverse needs. Most students come from Spanish speaking homes and are emergent bilinguals.

Last year, I worked with most of these students and was amazed with their eagerness and dedication to learning.

My Project

Last year, I used student planners for the first time and was so pleased with the results! The daily routine of recording assignments provides students with essential organizational skills for high school, college, and beyond! It also fosters independence and communication with parents.

This year, I found the perfect bilingual planner that will be more accessible for all parents regardless of their home language.

In addition, I am so excited that every student in my school from grades 1-5 will have access to brand new Google Chromebooks. In order to best utilize these for instructional purposes— such as video research and audiobooks— I am hoping to provide headphones for each student!
