Student Needs Cabinet

My Project

I teach at a Title I school, and sometimes the students don't have basic hygiene supplies at home. This can affect their attendance because they may feel too embarrassed to come to school unclean. Chronic absenteeism is rampant in schools today, and a lack of hygiene supplies should not be a reason for students to skip school.

My goal for this project is to start the 2025-2026 school year with a fully stocked cabinet of basic hygiene items to prevent embarrassment caused by absences.

The Student Needs Cabinet is meant to be a stop-gap measure to reduce absenteeism due to poor hygiene and lack of access to basic supplies; by providing travel-sized hygiene items, students can take care of their needs without drawing attention to the issue.
