Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At Las Palmas Leadership School, our students are taking the lead in promoting wellness and an active lifestyle in our community! They are organizing a free student-led sports clinic where local children can come together, learn new skills, and experience the joy of movement.

This event will be entirely student-led, with our after-school club athletes planning, organizing, and running the clinic.

They will take on leadership roles such as:

Setting up and coaching sports stations for activities like soccer, volleyball, and relay races.

Leading warm-ups and stretching exercises to teach injury prevention.

Providing hydration and nutrition education by distributing sports drinks and protein bars to teach kids about fueling their bodies properly. Handing out healthy snacks to encourage balanced eating habits. Celebrating participants’ efforts with stickers and small rewards to reinforce confidence and participation.

To make this event a success, we need your support! We are requesting donations for stickers, healthy snacks, sports drinks, and protein bars to ensure that every child who joins us has the fuel and motivation to fully participate.
