Student Led Book Clubs

My students need sets of young adult books for a student led book club.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of thinkers and learners who come together in the spirit of learning. We are a public, urban Montessori middle school, and, as a school that opened three years ago, we are still emerging and growing as a community. We are located in a historically diverse and low-income community. Seventy seven percent of our students receive free and reduced price lunch.

My students love reading!

They come to middle school with an enthusiasm for their educations and form a strong community. Our Montessori classroom experience is focused on educating the whole child and creating lifelong learners.

My Project

Here at our school, we are always seeking to provide extracurricular opportunities for our students to further expand their learning. Book club is a new activity we are offering to students this year.

This student led book club will provide our middle school readers a space to read and discuss engaging young adult titles.

It is also an opportunity for our 6-8 grade Montessori students to come together, connect, and share their thinking.

This title is the final book selected by our students. In addition to the book club book, students have asked for copies of the entire series so that they can continue reading after we meet. This book is a continuation of the selections students chose to meet a variety of interests and genres.
