This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school. We are a school with a large concentration of low-income students. The number of low-income students is determined by the number of students enrolled in the free or reduced-price lunch program. Most of my students get free breakfast and lunch. My students come from families who are struggling to put food on the table let alone all the extras kids want and should have.
My school has about an 85% poverty rate, and my students are so grateful for all the supplies and extras donated.

My Project
My students look forward to incentives when they work hard. I have included incentives for those that have a hard time sitting still and need fidget toys. It is amazing how hard they will work to earn these incentives.
My students love getting books to take home as a reward as these kids don't have many books of their own.
The last resource is a pack of headphones for students to use in class. We use headphones daily to be able to listen to a phonics program we use in class along with a math program.
