This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At four years old my Transitional Kindergarten students are the youngest readers at our school! After listening to a story during Story Time, they all love to look at student copies and pretend to reread it over and over again.

Goodnight Gorilla becomes a Gateway Book to more and more books!

Every year my students read the student copies of this story until the books are literally worn out. This hooks them on “Book Look” time and leads to them choosing more and more books to look at and reread throughout the year. Thank you for helping foster their love of books through funding this project!
