Help me give my students flexible seating in my classroom. The futon will help with small group readings and the high top table stools will be wonderful for small group work.
I teach a very active group of 7th graders. They love hands-on activities and to be creative. I love the enthusiasm that my students bring to class when they know that my class is not the average middle school classroom.
We do a lot of labs and hands-on activities in class.
My students are engaged and enthralled in the lesson when they are motivated. My classroom is student-centered, based on their needs, and their learning styles. I teach about an average of 85 students with ranging academic, physical and learning abilities.
My Project
This is the twenty-first century and classrooms should be centered around how students need to sit to learn.
Students will be using the stools for small groups as well as to sit and learn versus having to sit in a desk.
The futon will be used for alternative seating for students to take notes, work on assignments, or work with a partner.
The tall table and stools will be for small groups and just sitting for learning. I have little short stools that will work wonderful with the short tea table that the students can use to sit at, work, and wobble on during class.
