My Project

Help Me Create a Flexible, Student-Centered Learning Environment!

As an MTSS interventionist, I work with small groups of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, supporting them as they build essential academic and social skills.

My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where students feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. One way I foster this environment is by offering flexible seating.

Flexible seating gives students the power to choose where and how they learn best. Whether they’re listening to audiobooks, working with a partner, or completing independent assignments, students can move around the room and settle into spaces that help them stay focused and engaged. While my students currently enjoy sitting on rugs, blankets, or at various tables, our options for truly comfortable and supportive seating are limited.

That’s where your help comes in.

By adding a variety of flexible seating options—such as stadium seats, floor pillows, lightweight stools, and a balance ball chair—students will have more choices to support their individual learning styles. These items promote movement, comfort, and ownership over their learning experience. I’ve also included calming light filters to reduce harsh lighting, noise-canceling headphones to help students focus during tablet work, and a tabletop pocket chart to support visual learners wherever they are in the classroom.

I’ve seen firsthand how much more engaged my students become when they have a say in their learning environment. With your support, I can continue to build a classroom that meets their needs, sparks their motivation, and helps them thrive.
