This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various social economic backgrounds. They range from low income families to homes where parents are trying their best to raise their children in a neighborhood that has gang related problems daily. There are students that don't have either parent and are either with a foster family or with a relative. Either way, they come to class eager to learn, which is why I wouldn't want anything more but to enhance their excitement for education through games and materials.
My Project
Each year I struggle with giving my students the most ample amount of materials and access to books so they can succeed in my classroom. These teacher and student materials are essential to their learning because they will create positive outcomes to my students learning. For instance, post its are such a motivating tool that the minute I bring out post its, even my harder to motivate students perk up. The astro bright papers are eye catching and are an easy tool for my students to quickly get specific colored material needed. I use flexible seating in my classroom, therefore, having a class set of clip boards are essential to my type of classroom. The laminating pouches and name tags help keep materials that I use yearly last for many years to come.
Teacher resource books and read alouds are essential to my students and I.
Not only do I benefit having these resources, but more importantly my students do. I want to have to the most up to date resources for my students, therefore, having The Writing Strategies Book and Guided Reading Lessons Book will be a vital necessity due to my various reading levels in my class. The read alouds that I included offer a variety of topics, such as teaching kindness, chapter books and reading strategies.
These materials are a bonus to include in my class, but my students deserve to have the best in their learning. They will be motivated and eager to learn because of them.
