My Students
My students are urban students in PreK through 8th grade. My students are up and coming, often beginning, musicians. It is my privilege to help these students take the first step into this lifelong journey.
My students are my absolute favorite musicians.
Every time they hold instruments in their hands, sing songs, or listen to the great works, they have the same gleeful expression as the first time they did. Their excitement knows no boundaries. They are always looking for the next musical adventure, no matter the challenge.
My Project
My students love music. They love playing music. They love singing music. They love learning all about it. These guitars would help me bring music to them in a new and exciting way. However, I am building the guitar program from the ground up.
These guitars will be an amazing and invaluable creative outlet.
The instrument my students ask me about the most and show the most interest in is guitar. Not only is the guitar what they want, but it is an incredibly useful instrument to learn. They will be able to learn to read both notes and tabs, play along with their favorite tunes, and be able to sing along with their friends. The guitar is also an extremely accessible instrument that would allow me to meet the needs of all my students.
This set of guitars would open a completely new set of musical opportunities, and additionally would bring us closer to having a classroom set. Help me bring these opportunities to them. Help me build a guitar program for my current and future students.
