My Project
Help me give my students durable storage carts to support the structured, individualized work systems they need to thrive using the TEACCH method.
My name is Ashleigh Nesbitt and I’m a Comprehensive Support Teacher working with students who have a range of disabilities and diverse learning needs.
I’m passionate about creating a classroom where all students feel safe, supported, and capable of success. I use evidence-based strategies like TEACCH to build independence, confidence, and life skills through structure and routine.
Right now, our drawer systems are old, cracked, and worn down from years of heavy use. They no longer function reliably, making it difficult to maintain the consistency and organization that my students depend on.
Students with disabilities benefit greatly from clearly defined routines and visual supports, especially as they work to build executive function skills like task initiation, organization, and self-regulation. These new storage carts will allow me to create more effective, individualized work systems that reduce anxiety, promote independence, and help every student reach their potential.
Thank you for helping create a classroom environment where all learners can grow and succeed.
