My Students

I am an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at an amazing school that serves students from pre-k to 8th grade.

I am lucky to be the teacher of 20 incredible 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds with various disabilities including Autism, Down syndrome cerebral palsy, and more.

Most of my students are nonverbal and communicate through pictures, gestures, or AAC devices. In my classroom, we focus on teaching communication, social-emotional, play, and independent functioning skills in addition to academics. Each day, my students come ready and excited to learn new things. I am truly honored to be their teacher and look forward to helping them grow throughout the year. Thank you for considering donating to an amazing group of students.

My Project

The students in my classroom benefit from a structured classroom environment in order to learn new concepts and reinforce old skills. In order to create a well-organized room, we need moveable dividers to separate the different areas of the classroom. These dividers will help students stay in the area of instruction as well as limit distractions. My students also need cube chairs to help them remain seated during large and small group instruction.

The cube chairs and dividers are critical to any preschool instructional classroom and will be used on a daily basis.

Every day students will be participating in circle time where they will have to work on attending to a teacher-directed task. The cube chairs will support students in remaining in their own space and attending to the activity. These materials will be put to great use in our classroom! Thank you so much for your support!
