This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am deeply grateful for each of the amazing young girls in our sisterhood program. Watching them grow in confidence, empathy, and strength reminds me why this work is important.

Craft supplies and books are essential tools that bring learning to life in our program.

Bills provide valuable knowledge, stories, and perspectives that help students build self-awareness and empathy. Meanwhile, craft supplies allow them to express their creativity, explore their emotions, and reinforce important lessons in a hands/ on, engaging way. Together, these resources create a rich, supportive environment that encourages personal growth, confidence, and connection among the students. Providing snacks during our sessions is important to keep the young girls energized and focused. Many come straight from school or other activities, and a healthy snack helps maintain their concentration and participation.
